This role supports the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program by reviewing clinical information and auditing billings against CMS standards, while also overseeing the retrospective denial management process. The specialist provides clinical expertise for appeals, acts as a resource for the RAC team, and educates staff and physicians on regulatory compliance measures.

This position analyzes utilization and healthcare cost data to investigate underlying problems for medical and financial leaders, executing and improving processes to refine data into informative and directional findings. Core functions include providing accurate management and regulatory reports to support executive decisions, identifying financial trends, and guiding process changes through data analysis.
