Role Description

Bladework Games is an independent game studio developing an original, living, online multiplayer IP for the PC first and cross platform future. We are building a new take on the dungeon running experience, focused on fast-paced, fun, co-op competitive experiences.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the game's experience through constant hands-on in-engine efforts. You will support the creative vision by implementing enemies, enemy mechanics, and encounter mechanics, working closely with various disciplines such as Game Design, Engineering, VFX, SFX, and Animation.

  • Become a key contributor that helps move forward the game’s experience through constant hands-on in-engine efforts.
  • Support the creative vision by implementing mini games, enemies, enemy mechanics.
  • Iterate on gameplay creations in close collaboration with all disciplines involved (ie. Game Design, Engineering, VFX, SFX, Animation).
  • Share updates and review Blueprint submissions from other team members on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of focus on prototyping and creating gameplay mechanics within Unreal Engine specifically working within Blueprints.
  • A team player who is never afraid to ask questions and learn from failures.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a readiness to potentially shift focus as the project’s vision continues to evolve.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency with C / C++.

Requirements

  • Experience playing with and/or building mini games found in competitive party games.
  • Game development experience on a title in pre-production (could be a student project).
  • Gamer or game development experience with GaaS (Games as a Service).
  • Proficient with Unreal's Gameplay Ability System (GAS).
  • Knowledge of data driven solutions for system development.
  • Experience with automated build systems (TeamCity) and software version control (Perforce).
  • Experience playing with and/or building mechanics found in co-op action games.
