Job Description
• Administer and manage both Google Distributed Cloud Virtual for VMware (GKE on-premise) and Azure AKS clusters
• Implement and automate deployment of APIGEE on GKE on-premise clusters (Google Distributed Cloud Virtual for VMware) and Azure AKS clusters
• Establish best practices and standards for GKE on-premise and Azure AKS architecture, design, platform setup, and maintenance
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams to install platforms and applications—including APIGEE Hybrid—on GKE on-premise and Azure AKS clusters
• Perform periodic capacity planning and infrastructure expansion for both GKE on-premise and Azure AKS platforms
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for GKE on-premise and Azure AKS clusters
• Automate periodic upgrades for both GKE on-premise and Azure AKS clusters
• Automate periodic upgrades of APIGEE hybrid deployed on both GKE on-premise and Azure AKS clusters
• Work closely with API and Integration platform architects on API design, implementation, testing, production deployment, and support
• Identify technical dependencies and roadblocks proactively and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve them
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP) in building cloud technology solutions
- 2 or more years of experience in setting up and managing GKE on-premise (Google Distributed Cloud Virtual for VMware) environments
- Google Cloud Architect with expertise in Google Distributed Cloud Virtual for VMware (formerly Anthos)
- Hands-on experience deploying GKE on-premise (Google Distributed Cloud Virtual for VMware), Bare-metal, and Azure AKS clusters
- Experience deploying GKE and AKS clusters (Private/Public) with best practices for deployment
- Strong skills with containerization and orchestration technologies for both On-premise and Public Cloud (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, AKS, Istio)
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent technologies
- Experience with cluster and pod security, Google IAM, Azure RBAC, and policy management
- Experience setting up logging and monitoring for GKE (using Stackdriver or equivalent) and AKS
- Experience with source control tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.
- Proficiency with scripting and programming languages (Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell)
- Strong troubleshooting skills on infrastructure, with ability to identify bottlenecks and perform root cause analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
