Job Description

• The Senior IT Principal Enterprise Architect shapes and drives a global, multi-year technology strategy across a diverse global landscape. • This role partners with the VP of Architecture, domain architects, development teams, and business partners to evaluate the current estate, define a modern target architecture, and lead a pragmatic roadmap for the next five years of accelerated growth. • Drives Innovation Across the Enterprise. • Champions new ideas and emerging technologies that deliver transformative business value. • Encourages experimentation and calculated risk-taking across architecture and engineering teams. • Proactively scouts for opportunities to leverage AI, automation, advanced analytics, and next-generation platforms. • Launches pilot programs and proof-of-concepts to validate impact and scalability. • Facilitates workshops and innovation forums to accelerate ideation and solutioning. • Creates frameworks for evaluating, prioritizing, and scaling successful innovations. • Assesses current-state architecture (applications, data, integration, security, infrastructure—cloud and on-premises). • Defines target-state and reference architectures. Delivers a sequenced, value-centric 3 to 5 year roadmap. • Architect solutions spanning U.S. on-premises data centers, Azure (primary cloud), AWS (select workloads), and Google SecOps for SIEM. • Guides hybrid/multi-cloud patterns, landing zones, network/identity architecture, FinOps, cost governance, and observability. • Leads rationalization and modernization of legacy platforms to contemporary architectures. Establishes and evolves enterprise integration patterns (API-first, event-driven, data streaming).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Ten plus (10+) years of architecture experience spanning application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience establishing an enterprise API program from the ground up (platform selection, rollout, governance) and prior leadership in modernization programs for legacy 4GL and client/server estates are highly preferred.
  • Experience working across time zones; willingness to flex hours for critical global meetings and multilingual capabilities are preferred.
  • Strong Azure experience plus working knowledge of AWS; understanding of SIEM/SecOps integrations (Google SecOps a plus).
  • Practical exposure to several stacks: C# .NET, Java, Python, Progress OpenEdge, ColdFusion, PowerBuilder; ability to evaluate trade-offs versus target patterns.
  • Hands-on with multiple databases; knows when to standardize, retire, or adopt platform capabilities.
  • Proven track record with API management, event streaming, messaging, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Modern architecture patterns: microservices, domain-driven design, 12-factor, containers/orchestration, serverless where appropriate, and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Security and reliability by design: embeds security, DR/resilience, observability, and cost controls into the architecture.
  • Outstanding written, visual, and verbal communication skills; creates clear roadmaps, persuasive presentations, and precise decision records.
