Role Description
First American’s Internship Program is a full-time, 10–12 week paid internship from June – August 2025 which can be worked from an office or remotely, depending on the job opportunity. As a First American Intern you will work in a program designed to help you gain experience and develop the technical, professional and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout your career. As a First American Intern you will gain exposure to working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry – balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities – while under the guidance of a manager and/or mentor. Undergraduate students are assigned significant work assignments to support specific business functions including Marketing, Human Resources, Technology, Accounting and Finance.
The Public Affairs Intern will support First American’s companywide community engagement and government affairs initiatives. The intern will assist with communications, research, and administrative tasks that help drive meaningful community impact and support the company’s legislative goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in community relations, public affairs, or government affairs work to gain real-world experience in a collaborative and mission driven environment.
- Support planning and execution of community outreach events and volunteer initiatives
- Assist with coordinating partnerships with nonprofits and local organizations
- Help track and organize donations, sponsorship requests, and volunteer activities
- Contribute to internal and external communications, including newsletters and social content
- Conduct research on community needs, trends, and potential partnership opportunities
- Provide general administrative support to the Public Affairs team as needed
Qualifications
- Junior or senior‑level student currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable engaging with employees, community partners, and nonprofit organizations
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in community outreach, volunteerism, and corporate social responsibility
- Professional, positive, and service‑oriented mindset
Requirements
- Pay Range: $15.37 - $20.49 Hourly
- This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
- First American will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws (e.g., the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act).
- First American intends to conduct a review of an applicant’s criminal history in connection with a conditional offer. First American reasonably believes that a criminal history may have a direct, adverse and negative relationship with the following material job duties for this position potentially resulting in the withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment: handling of confidential, proprietary or trade secret information belonging to First American or its customers, administrating or facilitating financial transactions, and the ability to meet customer-imposed criminal history requirements.
