How YOU will make a Difference:

HMA is embarking on a multi‑year transformation initiative focused on modernizing HMA’s claims processing capabilities. Over the next three years, we are transitioning to a new, more efficient claims system that will strengthen accuracy, improve member and client experience, and support long‑term operational growth. This project brings together teams across HMA to rethink processes, adopt new technologies, and build a stronger foundation for the future. Each role supporting Project Phoenix plays a meaningful part in shaping how we serve our members for years to come.

What YOU will do:

  • Develop, edit, and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process work instructions (PWIs), job aids, and training guides.  
  • Collaborate with (SMEs), Process Analysts, and Trainers to gather information and validate content accuracy.  
  • Translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear, concise language suitable for diverse audiences.  
  • Ensure documentation meets organizational standards for clarity, consistency, and compliance.  
  • Support the creation of visual aids, diagrams, FAQs, and quick reference materials to enhance understanding and adoption.  

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge, Experience and Attributes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience creating technical documentation
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, user‑friendly content
  • Experience working closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and subject‑matter experts
  • Experience with markup languages (Markdown, HTML, XML)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications
  • Experience creating diagrams or visuals using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, or Draw.io
  • Understanding of content management systems (CMS) and structured authoring principles
  • Exceptional written communication and attention to detail
  • Strong interviewing and information‑gathering skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced or agile environments
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies

  • Compensation for this contract role ranges from $37–$48 per hour, and varies dependent on geography, skills, experience, education, and other job or market-related factors.
