Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead our engineering function and drive PlanOmatic’s next phase of growth through AI-forward development practices.
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team.
- Own sprint execution, roadmap delivery, and technical prioritization in partnership with Product and Leaders.
- Ensure strong communication, accountability, and performance standards across your team.
- Build and maintain scalable processes for the Engineering function.
- Champion AI adoption across the team by standardizing on Claude Code.
- Actively contribute to the codebase and lead by example.
- Regularly produce and review production-level code using Claude Code.
- Lead architecture decisions through implementation and build AI-native features.
- Identify and implement generative AI and LLM-powered opportunities across the platform.
- Oversee system architecture decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
- Drive best practices in code quality, documentation, and DevOps.
- Lead initiatives to bridge product and engineering using AI.
- Report directly to the CEO and act as the technical thought partner on engineering decisions.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years leading engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience building with generative AI, including LLM-powered features.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic AI coding tools.
- Track record of driving AI adoption and culture change within engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture (cloud-native systems, APIs, microservices).
- High ownership mentality.
- Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker who also enjoys rolling up their sleeves.
Requirements
- Location: Denver-based candidates highly preferred, open to remote.
- Reports to: CEO.
Interview Process
- 30-minute call with Head of People.
- 1-hour interview with CEO.
- 30-min interviews with Leadership Team.
- Final decisions & offer stage.
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is $160,000 - $205,000, with bonus potential. Final offer amounts are commensurate with prior experience, leveling, your specific skill set and may vary from the amount above.
