Role Description
This role involves providing research support for universities and academic medical centers across the country.
- Support establishment of awards in the grant administration and/or financial system
- Manage award activity and monitor expenditures
- Ensure compliance with federal and sponsor guidelines and client policies
- Identify and forecast trends in spending that exceed current funding levels
- Clear overdrafts and re-budget when necessary
- Complete project close outs and perform general financial reconciliations
- Support post-award regulatory compliance activities, including subaward monitoring and cost transfer review
- Execute sponsored financial management transactions, including preparing invoices and managing receivables
- Prepare and submit financial reports
- Coordinate sponsor communications and requests for prior approval
Qualifications
- U.S. work authorization required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in research administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other applications of the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and high-level attention to detail
- Proficiency in sponsored programs financial administration software applications
- Substantial knowledge of federal agency policies, regulations, and requirements
- Effective time management to meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, supporting multiple internal initiatives
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in process change to achieve research administration best practices (preferred)
- Experience working in payment portals such as PMS, ACMS, iRAPT, and other sponsored research payment systems (preferred)
Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $65,000 - $95,000
- Total estimated compensation range (including annual incentive compensation): $70,720 - $112,100
- Eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans, including medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Participation in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program
