Role Description
The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is growing rapidly and is seeking new members on our Financial Reporting team. Our primary goal is to provide exceptional administration services to our clients while interacting with Fund Accounting teams, auditors, printers, and other SEI personnel. As a financial reporting manager, you will manage the preparation of financial statement process for various clients in accordance with the regulatory and/or client calendars.
- Manage and participate in the drafting of annual, quarterly, and other financial statements for clients.
- Execute financial reporting process controls and conduct internal reviews.
- Manage external reviews for financial documents.
- Oversee financial reporting specialists and prepare necessary documentation for clients.
- Assist in filings with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) in accordance with regulatory deadlines.
- Serve as points of contact for financial reporting expertise to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Participate in preparing technical memorandums documenting issues clearly and logically.
- Support fund accounting manager in communications with external auditors on financial reporting issues.
- Resolve open escalated issues and questions by communicating with internal and client teams.
- Conduct performance appraisals and monthly one-on-ones with team analysts/supervisors.
- Ensure staffing requirements are met by assessing resource needs, interviewing candidates, and hiring employees.
- Foster a team environment including individual development, promotions, and disciplinary action.
- Participate in IMS and corporate professional development sessions to identify processes for improvement.
Qualifications
- BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mutual fund or alternative investment funds industry.
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with financial statement preparation required.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
