Job Description
Role Description
This role involves talent acquisition strategy and recruiting across multiple areas, including:
- Talent evaluation and screening (e.g., analysing resumes for relevant skills, conducting screening interviews, assisting managers with interviews, testing/ranking candidates, checking references, and providing feedback to unsuccessful candidates)
- Job advertising and posting (e.g., developing job descriptions, posting on internal and external sites, providing specifications to external recruiting agencies)
- Talent prospecting (representing the organization at employment fairs, participating in campus recruiting activities, building sourcing pipelines/networks for targeted talent pools)
- Talent staffing and planning (e.g., forecasting future hiring needs, aligning hiring strategy to longer-term workforce plans, analysing market trends that impact labour supply & demand)
Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Responsibilities typically include:
- Policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less)
- Addressing difficult to moderately complex problems
- Influencing others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures
Business Partnering:
- Partner with senior leaders to understand business strategy, growth plans, and capability gaps
- Lead workforce planning for supported functions, translating business goals into hiring and talent plans
- Provide data-driven insights on talent trends, market intelligence, and hiring performance
- Build strong, credible relationships with executive stakeholders
- Proactively identify talent risks and develop mitigation strategies
Senior Hiring:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for senior and executive-level roles
- Design and execute targeted search strategies, including proactive market mapping and direct sourcing
- Partner closely with executives to define role scope, success profiles, and assessment criteria
- Ensure rigorous, inclusive, and high-quality selection processes
- Deliver exceptional candidate experience, particularly for senior stakeholders
- Manage offer negotiation and closing strategies for complex compensation packages
- Build and maintain external executive talent pipelines
Projects/other:
- Lead or contribute to strategic talent acquisition projects
- Improve hiring processes and drive efficiencies across supported areas
- Champion inclusive hiring and equitable talent practices
