Job Description

• Responsible for providing coding and abstracting services for clients' inpatient charts • Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures • Assign diagnostic and procedural codes after thorough review • Ensure appropriate DRG assignments and meet productivity and quality performance requirements • Maintain effective and professional communication skills

Job Requirements

Minimum of 3 years related IP coding experience
Must be able to code multi-specialty IP charts (not a teaching facility)
CCS or CIC credentials required
Strong coding background and familiarity with complex diagnoses and stays
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
Must understand medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology and disease processes.
