Job Description

• Develop and maintain a deep working knowledge of the design basis for standard plant mechanical systems of the BWRX-300 technology (e.g., nuclear boiler system, ECCS systems, control rod drive system, cooling and cleanup systems, etc). • Support gap analysis between standard plant mechanical systems and site-specific requirements, including regulatory requirements and industry recognized mechanical codes and standards. • Evaluate impacts of site-specific requirements on both mechanical systems and their system and building interfaces. • Support integration across multiple engineering disciplines, including architectural engineering, licensing, equipment design, and safety systems. • Participate in design evolution programs that extend and improve our modularization strategies. • Contribute to an engineering team that assures proposals and early works packages for selected sites are compatible with our standard product offering. • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal engineering teams. • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies as required on technical issues. • Work with proposal and early works teams to build estimates, schedules, and identify risks associated with different opportunities. • Provide guidance to external partner engineering resources to ensure the quality of deliverables. • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities. • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEVH. • Support GEVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification. • Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems engineering for power generation, nuclear, or other large-scale, regulated infrastructure industries
  • Knowledge of nuclear mechanical systems design principles, including safety classification, functional requirements, and performance criteria
  • Familiarity with nuclear mechanical codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI/ANS, etc.
  • Knowledge of diverse regulatory schemes (e.g., US NRC, CNSC, IAEA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modular solutions and associated interface requirements
  • Ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
  • High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities

  • Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change management)
  • EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.
