Job Description

• Lead the design and development of transformers or related components ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications • Conduct advanced engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency addressing complex design challenges • Perform and oversee failure analysis on design-related issues identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability • Provide technical leadership in design reviews guiding decisions and ensuring alignment with project objectives and customer requirements • Mentor and guide junior engineers by offering technical expertise support and development opportunities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing quality assurance supply chain sales and customer service to ensure successful integration of designs into production • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation including design specifications test plans and technical reports • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and ensure competitive product designs • Lead continuous improvement initiatives promoting innovation and efficiency in design processes and methodologies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • More than 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on transformer or related product design
  • Proven ability to lead design projects from concept to production
  • Advanced proficiency with design and analysis tools including electrical and thermal analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks)
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., VB .Net, C++, SQL) and database management tools (e.g., MySQL)
  • Ability to interact with, maintain, and update ERP system data related to engineering processes
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOE) for transformers and related components
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities capable of addressing complex technical challenges independently
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities
  • Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design-related issues
