Role Description
This role drives the future of Roehm’s PMMA business in the Americas by uncovering new markets, leading strategic growth initiatives, and expanding the reach of ACRYLITE® and CYROLITE® technologies. You’ll shape our market presence, champion customer engagement, and influence next‑generation product innovation. Your work directly fuels high‑impact growth programs and positions Roehm as a leader in key North American industries.
- Lead New Business Development efforts across the Americas, identifying high‑value opportunities and driving Roehm’s Value Creation Programs for long‑term growth.
- Build strong market presence in targeted segments—Automotive, Medical, Extrusion, Compounding, and Building & Construction—by identifying new applications and customer needs.
- Engage key OEMs in the Building & Construction space, gather Voice of Customer insights, and collaborate with R&D to shape next-generation products.
- Perform strategic portfolio and market analysis to identify gaps, emerging trends, and expansion opportunities across industries such as Appliances, Deck & Rail, RV, and Vinyl Siding.
- Represent Roehm at major trade shows and industry conferences, developing new leads, expanding networks, and positioning the brand as a PMMA market leader.
- Drive cross‑regional collaboration by translating global new product development opportunities and engaging with multinational customers and prospects.
- Provide market intelligence to leadership and partner with technical, commercial, and sales teams to develop impactful product launch strategies.
- Build and maintain a high‑value opportunity pipeline, ensuring accurate CRM tracking and consistent advancement of growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Optical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or technical commercial roles, ideally within plastics, polymers, or advanced materials.
- Proven success in customer‑facing roles requiring strong engagement, relationship building, and solution selling.
- Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, highly matrixed, multicultural environment, collaborating across technical, commercial, and global teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; highly self‑driven and resourceful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, SAP, and data analysis tools.
- Willingness to travel 50% or more, including occasional international travel.
