Role Description

The System Administrator plays a key role in maintaining and improving the stability, security, and performance of client systems, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and enterprise infrastructure. This position requires solid technical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to managing cloud and on-premises environments. You'll support daily operations, lead mid-size technical initiatives, and collaborate with senior administrators to ensure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

  • Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Manage and support Active Directory, Azure AD, group policies, and multifactor authentication
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, capacity, and availability
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards (HIPAA, etc.)
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, and updates across environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating when necessary
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, etc.) to improve efficiency
  • Assist in planning and deploying infrastructure projects and upgrades
  • Maintain accurate documentation, change management logs, and runbooks
  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for escalated incidents
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT operations with organizational goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure management
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Windows Server environments
  • Solid understanding of identity management, authentication, and access controls
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell preferred)
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions
  • Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, and security principles
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Requirements

  • Experience with ITIL or similar operational frameworks
  • Knowledge of configuration management and monitoring tools
  • Experience with SIEM systems or security monitoring (e.g., Splunk, Sumo Logic)
  • Exposure to healthcare IT or compliance environments (HIPAA, SOC 2)
