Job Description:

The Curing Systems Mobile Service Technician is responsible for the on-site installation, inspection and commissioning of new direct-fired curing systems. Additionally, the Mobile Service Technician will be responsible for on-site troubleshooting, tuning, maintenance, upgrades, retrofits and inspections of existing direct-fired curing equipment and components.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travelling the U.S. in a Curing Systems service van to provide onsite service and support to our Customers for installs, tuning, inspections, upgrades, commissioning and decommissioning. 
  • Some international travel at times could be needed.
  • Responsible for the coordination and oversite of large installation projects.
  • Be the first line of technical support, assisting customers with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Provide the curing team with feedback of customer satisfaction, issues, and possible improvements.
  • Suggest possible design changes to our Curing product line. Implement any changes once suggestions are approved
  • Responsible for accurate inventory management of the parts in the service van.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve technical/logistical issues.  Gather relevant information to ensure smooth transitions to other areas within the Curing team.
  • Promote sales of additional Curing product offerings such as annual service programs, new equipment leads, spare parts kits, etc.
  • Provide feedback to the sales team for possible curing sales opportunities while visiting customers.
  • Oversee and assist the customers contractors installing gas, water, insulation, and electrical.
  • Communicate between the field and the internal office team on both technical and administrative issues.
  • Attend refresher training classes and planned team meetings to promote continuous improvement of technical and non-technical skillsets.
  • Consistently meet established production, quality, and safety standards.
  • Responsible for the training of other Afinitas curing techs and customers on various aspects of curing systems.
  • Conduct on-site training with customer personnel to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Accurate completion of weekly expense reports and time sheets as well as monthly credit card expenses.  Will also submit thorough and accurate after service summary reports to Curing Leader and Customer.

QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES

  • Experience with direct fired steam generators or boilers desired but not necessary.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and deductive reasoning skills
  • Ability to coordinate & direct trades: e.g. welders, plumbers, electricians & HVAC, with a customer satisfaction ethos.
  • Experience with hand tools, electric meters, power tools, cranes, fork trucks, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with Customer Service Department, other Afinitas Departments, and customers by phone, email, and in person.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Displays professional conduct and exemplifies a standard of leadership.
  • Ability to comply with all work-related deadlines, safety directives, and work overtime when required by the situation.
  • Valid driver’s license required and comfortable driving a light commercial vehicle (cargo van)
  •  Must be able to obtain a passport for travel to Canada and overseas.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to handle shifting priorities and deadlines; able to properly prioritize accordingly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

COMPENSATION

The approximate pay range for this position is $85,000–$110,000 annually. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
