Job Description
We offer a hybrid work environment. Most US-based positions can also be performed remotely (any exceptions will be noted in the Minimum Qualifications below.)
Our Mission:
To actively connect people to their next great opportunity.
Who We Are:
ZipRecruiter is a leading online employment marketplace. Powered by AI-driven smart matching technology, the company actively connects millions of all-sized businesses and job seekers through innovative mobile, web, and email services, as well as through partnerships with the best job boards on the web. ZipRecruiter has the #1 rated job search app on iOS & Android.
Summary:
We are looking for a high-impact, versatile Director of Product Management to lead significant aspects of the Job Seeker user experience and growth strategy. In this role, you will be the primary driver behind how millions of people discover work, focusing on retention, engagement, and acquisition.
You will lead the vision and execution for core seeker products, including our #1-rated mobile app, messaging platforms, and discovery interfaces. As a "player-coach," you will be expected to zoom out to set growth strategies and zoom in to ensure flawless execution of AI-driven features.
Key Focuses:
- Drive Growth & Retention: Own the job seeker lifecycle, developing and executing strategies to increase user acquisition and deepen long-term retention.
- Lead Core Product Areas: Direct the product roadmap for large aspects of the job seeker product like the mobile app, messaging ecosystem, and the job discovery/recommendation experiences.
- Champion AI-Driven Development: Lean into ZipRecruiter’s AI-first DNA to build personalized, proactive experiences that act like a personal recruiter for every seeker.
- Coordinate Marketplace Fit: Partner closely with Employer-side product teams to ensure a healthy, balanced marketplace where seeker actions lead to successful hires.
- Lead & Mentor: Manage and grow a high-performing team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of ownership and excellence.
- Act as an Owner: Take full accountability for your product domain, from high-level KPI setting to the nuances of daily execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven Leadership: 3+ years of experience managing a team of at least 2 product managers, with a track record of developing talent.
- B2C Expertise: Deep experience building consumer-facing products at scale, with a strong intuition for user behavior and growth loops.
- AI/ML Fluency: You aren’t just a fan of AI; you understand how to leverage Machine Learning to solve user problems and have experience building AI-powered product features.
- Strategic Versatility: You are a "smart generalist" who can be thrown at any complex problem—whether it’s a technical architectural hurdle or a brand-new market opportunity—and figure it out.
- Player-Coach Mentality: You are comfortable presenting to the C-suite one hour and diving into prototypes or data dashboards the next.
- Self-Motivation: You are highly driven and thrive in an environment where you are given the autonomy to drive massive impact.
- Deeply Analytical: You are a data-obsessed problem solver who doesn't just look at dashboards but interrogates the "why" behind the numbers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Marketplace Experience: Previous experience at a two-sided marketplace (e.g., jobs, real estate, rideshare).
- Deep ML Knowledge: Advanced understanding of recommendation systems or LLM integration.
- B2C Growth Specialization: Specific experience in performance marketing, SEO, or viral loops for seeker acquisition.
As Part of Our Team You’ll Enjoy:
- Competitive salary
- Exceptional benefits package
- Flexible vacation & paid time off
- Employer-matched 401(k) plan
