Role Description

This role involves providing psychiatric mental health care as a part-time Nurse Practitioner in a fully remote model.

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
  • Formulate accurate, evidence-based diagnoses
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
  • Monitor effectiveness and adjust treatment as needed
  • Provide brief supportive therapy and psychoeducation
  • Partner with therapists and care teams to ensure coordinated treatment
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EHR
  • Uphold all ethical and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
  • Active, unrestricted Virginia PMHNP license & DEA
  • Board Certification (PMHNP-BC)
  • Experience with or passion for working with youth and families
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Comfort practicing in a telehealth environment
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply — structured mentorship is available

Requirements

  • Active Virginia PMHNP license (Multi-state or compact preferred)
  • Must be able to practice independently without MD collaboration
