Role Description
The Manager of Fuel Strategy and Optimization is responsible for executing the company’s enterprise-wide gasoline strategy to drive volume, profitability, loyalty engagement, and competitive positioning. This role serves as the strategic connector between Operations, Marketing, Loyalty, and Retail Fuel Supply—translating complex data into clear, actionable direction. This role ensures organizational alignment, advanced analytics integration, and consistent execution to strengthen fuel performance across all markets.
- Lead the development and execution of the enterprise-wide gasoline strategy across all Districts and Divisions, ensuring execution from field leadership down to the store level.
- Translate complex analytics, elasticity insights, and competitive intelligence into actionable business strategies for field and corporate teams, including store-level application and adoption.
- Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership on pricing, volume targets, GP$ potential, and long-term gas performance.
- Guide cross-functional teams to improve fuel volume, conversion, loyalty engagement, and competitive market position through operationally executable strategies.
- Monitor performance across all locations to identify trends, risks, execution gaps, and strategic opportunities.
- Adjust strategies proactively based on market volatility, competitive pressures, internal analytics, and field feedback.
- Refine pricing algorithms, elasticity models, and optimization tools.
- Strengthen our understanding of fuel conversion, market share, price perception, and guest loyalty through targeted, field-enabled initiatives.
- Integrate loyalty data, conversion insights, and customer behavior patterns into fuel strategy and promotions with clear store-level execution guidance.
- Provide demand-side insights to inform supply and logistics planning, pricing decisions, and fuel economics.
- Champion innovation through advanced analytics, pricing automation, enterprise test-and-learn programs, and continuous operational improvement.
- Lead enterprise-wide gas and loyalty tests, analyze results, and scale successful concepts systemwide with field and store execution readiness.
- Prepare and deliver strategic updates, insights, and performance reporting to Executive Leadership.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
- 2+ years of multi-unit leadership experience

- Technical skills: High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations
- Resilience, attention to detail, workload management, organization, time management, and strong follow-up
